Architectural Transformations: Before & After

The Petersen Automotive Museum, located at the busy intersection of Fairfax and Wilshire in Los Angeles, presented a unique photographic challenge. We aimed to use a Light Painting technique to achieve a consistent metallic sheen across its dynamic exterior. The constant flow of vehicular and pedestrian traffic added another layer of complexity. To overcome this, we conducted three extensive scouting trips, meticulously analyzing traffic patterns, ideal lighting conditions, and testing specialized gear to light paint effectively from over 300 feet away.

This beautiful Transitional Modern Home in Brentwood presented a unique challenge: perfectly matching interior and exterior exposures to replicate the eye's view at sunset. Achieving that stunning balance required over 30 Photoshop layers, utilizing light painting to illuminate the trees, bushes, and the pavement's vibrant orange reflective glow.

Levyland, a beautiful residential venue in Carlsbad, California, near San Diego, offered a unique challenge just 500 feet from the beach. To capture this elevated vantage point, our camera was positioned at least 25 feet off the ground. We used multiple exposures to reveal both the stunning interior and exterior simultaneously. The final image, perfected with exterior light painting, involved compositing over 70 layers.
